Small update

Just a quick post to serve as an update.

Currently all my time seems to be consumed with Open Uni work when not at work during the day - leaving little time for music production. I am enjoying the challenge although it can seem like a constant mountain to climb.

The little music production I am doing is going OK. I am trying a different approach to production / composition. I use Ableton Live v8 but feel as though using the 'Session' view and then recording a sequence of patterns into the arrangement view leaves my tracks feeling a bit bland and development of melodies and structure are not encouraged this way. Therefore I have recently decided to try composing more fully within the linear arrangement view. So far results have been mixed as it is a different way of working but more melodic and progressive arrangements are happening!

So, I shall keep working away and hope to get some tunes done for release around Christmas time.

'Common Cycle' on Youtube

I have just uploaded a video of 'Common Cycle' to Youtube. The video consists of various images which I thought fit well with the track. This is my first attempt at adding visuals to my tracks and as such the results are basic, but I think it works well. I have embedded the video in this post also.

Site now accessible from ambesound.co.uk

ambesound.com is now accessible by using ambesound.co.uk aswell. ambesound.co.uk is the original domain name which I had and have now transfered to my new domain registrar. All requests for ambesound.co.uk are forwarded to ambesound.com and all requests for tracks.ambesound.co.uk are forwarded to tracks.ambesound.com.

All ready to go, including guestbook

I'm pretty happy that this site now has all the functionality which is needed for now.

I have setup a guestbook using a suggestion I found on google, which seems to work just fine. People can post general feedback (via comments) there and then get to it later using the link on the right, under the 'Welcome' heading.

Think its time to let people know of this sites existence!

Getting there (no pun intended)

Things are coming along nicely and I'm kinda loving Blogger and how easy it is to set things up and update content. This 3 column layout as you see it now will likely stay for a while with...

There also be a nice 'Follow my feed' as the bottom of the page which allows you to quickly add my feed to your RSS/Atom reader of choice.

Just need to add my 'ambe' image to the top of the page (see tracks.ambesound.com) and maybe widen the page a bit. All this is of course largely irrelevant until people start visiting this site. Shall notify people when the page is where I want it :)

Domains all set up

Say hello to ambesound.com and tracks.ambesound.com!

What this means is that to access this main site simply point your web browser of choice to ambesound.com (or www.ambesound.com if you want to type four more characters to excercise your digits).

Additionally I have setup bandcamp on the tracks.ambesound.com subdomain, which makes things nice and tidy. There will be a fair bit of crossover between these sites in the future and I'm going to be using Blogger to keep anyone who cares updated about my music (plus there may be some other rants thrown in from time to time).

It's nice to have a seperate domain for tracks and the main site as it gives me an address to give out if people to immediatly hear some tracks...we will see how it works out.
